et martyr en Pologne (+ 1940)
Né en 1892 en Pologne, ordonné prêtre pour le diocèse de Gdansk en 1918, François Rogaczewski devint prêtre d'une paroisse de cette ville puis dans la paroisse du Christ-Roi à Paris. De retour dans sa patrie occupée par le régime nazi en 1939, il est arrêté, emprisonné, torturé et exécuté pour sa Foi en 1940 dans les environs de Gdansk. Il a été béatifié par Jean-Paul II le 13 juin 1999 en même temps que d'autres martyrs de la persécution nazie.
Au camp d'extermination de Stutthof, près de Gdansk, en Pologne, l'an 1940, le
bienheureux François Rogaczewski, prêtre et martyr, qui, durant l'oppression de
la Pologne sous le régime nazi, fut fusillé pour la foi.

Bienheureux François Rogaczewski
François (
Franciczek ) Rogaczewski* naquit à Lipinki en Prusse Orientale, dans une
famille polonaise, le 23 décembre 1892.
Il fut ordonné prêtre pour le diocèse de Dantzig, en 1918. Il fut vicaire à
Dantzig, puis à Paris dans la paroisse du Christ-Roi.
Il retourna dans sa province natale, qui faisait partie du Reich allemand, le
1er septembre 1939, alors que le régime nazi allait envahir la Pologne voisine.
Faisant partie de l' élite intellectuelle de la minorité polonaise de Dantzig,
qui était à plus de 90% allemande, il fut fusillé le 11 janvier 1940, aux
abords de la ville.
Il fut béatifié en 1999, par Jean-Paul II.

Franciszek Rogaczewski
was born in Lipinki in Kujawsko-Pomorskie region in Poland, December 23, 1892.
In 1918 he received the Order of Priests becoming a priest of the Archdiocese
of Gdansk. He was a pastor in this city and then in parish of Christ the King in
Paris.
Returning to his homeland
occupied by the Nazi regime, on September 1, 1939 he was arrested and accused
of being Christian. Imprisoned and tortured, he was finally shot on January 11,
1940 near Gdansk.
On June 13, 1999, Pope
John Paul II raised to the altars 108 victims of the Nazi persecution,
including Blessed Francis Rogaczewski, who is therefore now celebrated on the
anniversary of his martyrdom.

Franciszek Rogaczewski nacque a Lipinki, nella Regione Kujawsko-Pomorskie in Polonia, il 23 dicembre 1892. Nel 1918 ricevette l’ordinazione presbiterale divenendo così sacerdote dell’arcidiocesi di Gdansk.Fu parroco in tale città e poi nella parocchia di Cristo Re in Parigi.
Tornato nella patria occupata dal regime nazista, il 1° settembre 1939 fu arrestato accusato di essere cristiano. Imprigionato e torturato, fu infine fucilato l’11 gennaio 1940 nei pressi di Gdansk.
Papa Giovanni Paolo II il 13 giugno 1999 elevò agli onori degli altari ben 108
vittime della medesima persecuzione nazista, tra le quali il Beato Francesco
Rogaczewski, che viene dunque ora festeggiato nell’anniversario del martirio.

Rogaczewski (pl: Franciszek) ble født i 1892 og var sekularprest i
erkebispedømmet Gdansk. Han var sogneprest i den polske menigheten «Kristus
Kongen» i Danzig (nå Gdansk), og han var en uvanlig skriftemålsprest. Han ble
arrestert den 1. oktober 1939 og skutt den 11. januar 1940 etter langvarig
tortur i nærheten av Gdansk. [Gedani-Zaspae]
Kort før de ble hentet ut
for henrettelsen sa han til sin vikar, som var fange sammen med ham: «Jeg kan
føle at jeg kommer til å dø; si til mine kjæreste folk i Kristus Kongens kirke
at jeg villig vil ofre mitt liv for Kristus og mitt fedreland».
Han ble saligkåret den
13. juni 1999 av pave Johannes Paul II (1978-2005) i Warszawa som en av
de 108
polske martyrer for nazismen. Gruppen har offisielt navnet «De salige
Antonius Julian Nowowiejski, Henrik Kaczorowski, Anicetus Koplinski og Maria
Anna Biernacka og deres 104 ledsagere». Han er nr 13 på listen. Hans minnedag
er dødsdagen 11. januar, mens hele gruppens minnedag er 12. juni.
