Saints Egdune et ses compagnons, martyrs
Ils étaient huit chrétiens fidèles (Egdune et le prêtre Mygdon, Eugène, Maxime, Domna, Mardoine, Smaragde et Hilaire) qui vivaient à Nicomédie, en Bithynie, sous l'empereur Dioclétien. Suspendus par les pieds au-dessus d'un feu, ils furent condamnés, en 303, à mourir asphyxiés successivement, à des jours différents, pour inspirer de la crainte aux autres.
